‘Fat loss foods’ do not exist

There is a lot of talk about fat loss foods in the diet industry. They have magical properties that can assist in weight loss. Unfortunately, they do not exist. Being able to understand that no food is ‘bad’ is an important part of developing a healthy relationship with food.As far as weight loss is concerned, a calorie is a calorie, and if you’re in a negative calorie balance you can eat anything you want and still lose weight.

This does not mean you can eat whatever the hell you want, as that does not equal good ‘health’ either. Remember that the whole point of a diet is to make you feel better about yourself. Fueling your body with junk won’t make you feel better It is true that there are no fat loss foods. Foods, however, that are more healthful and better for weight loss are available.

Fat-loss foods share one or more of the following characteristics:

    They have fewer calories per gram.

    Composition of solid rather than liquid

    Contains a lot of fibre

    A high source of protein

These foods are generally whole and minimally processed; they are close to their natural states, such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats. As well as providing you with micronutrients (the vitamins and minerals your body needs), these foods are nutrient-dense and have beneficial effects on your health.

In fact, calorie-dense foods provide a lot of calories but only occupy a small amount of stomach space. In order to feel full after eating calorie-dense foods, you have to consume a large number of calories.

At the moment they may feel great, but later on, they can cause big energy fluctuations and leave you feeling hungry again. If you ate 500kcal of pizza (approximately two slices), you would soon be hungry again. As a result, if you ate the equivalent of 500Kcal of lean protein and vegetables, you would likely feel full for a much longer period of time.

Action Step

You should start by filling half of your plate with vegetables. You will feel fuller and your body will receive the essential vitamins and minerals it needs to thrive by eating nutrient-dense foods. You can transform your weight loss results with this simple shift.
